Our Lady of Assumption Extension Program offers before and after school supervision for OLA students. A program based on care and concern for your child and his/her needs, we strive to give your children a sense of his/her own worth and uniqueness in all aspects of living and learning.
Extension operates in accord with the philosophy and value systems of OLA School. We offer the children a variety of experiences and activities within a Catholic environment. Recreation, enrichment, study, rest and relaxation are part of each day. All children in grades one through eight attend study hall after they have had a nutritious snack. Our study halls are supervised by qualified school staff.
The Extension Program’s philosophy is one of caring and sharing. While the children will have planned activities, the choice of activities will be theirs. In a Christian setting, we hope your child will relax, thrive and develop a sense of responsibility for self and concern for others.
We have a program from 8:00 am to 2:45 pm we call Kindercare. This program is for our Kindergarten children during the time they are not in class. We have planned activities which include art, organized games, simple cooking activities, story time, outdoor time, rest time and free play. Free play is a crucial part of socialization, which is an important part of functioning well at school.
Extension opens at 6:30 am and closes at 6:00 pm. We offer a breakfast program for children who must come to school early. The cost of extension is $4.00 per half hour.
OLA Extension is self-sustaining. Parent fees are its sole support; the parish or school does not subsidize the program. For more information, please call (916) 489-5427.
