The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process through which adults or youth (those between the ages of 7 to 18) are fully initiated into the OLA Faith Community through the reception of the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. There are four periods of formation: inquiry, catechumenate, enlightenment and mystagogia. RCIA participants experience three major liturgical rites or stages: Rite of Acceptance, Rite of Election and Rite of Initiation. This process accomodates those who are not fully initiated into the Catholic faith to help them in their journey of conversion.
RCIA classes take place on Sunday mornings and Monday evenings. All are welcome. Please contact our Faith Formation office at (916) 488-4626 for more information.
