Dear Parishioners:
It is with much excitement and gratitude that I announce we have achieved our fundraising goal for the first phase of our historic Capital Campaign to revitalize our parish and school facilities. 

To date, we have raised more than $2.86 million in pledges and gifts towards our first phase goal of $2.5 - $3 million. This is more than OLA has ever raised in a campaign for our church and school! And it was done in one of the most challenging economies seen in a generation. Because of your prayers and support, we can begin construction on Phase 1 as planned in June 2011 -- just a few months from now!

We could not have achieved our goal without the sacrifice of time, talent and treasure made by so many of you.  A special thank you goes to The Lukowicz Family for their generous donation and the challenge pledge that spurred us all to the finish line. From early November to December 31, 2010, they matched every pledge or gift up to $100,000, which helped OLA achieve our fundraising goals and move forward with construction. There were many donations, small and large - each significant and important to the final outcome. Please see the sample donor appreciation wall in the back of the church for a list of supporters and committee volunteers. Thank you to all for your generous gifts to your parish.

For those who have not yet contributed, it’s not too late! We invite you to join us in support of your parish and school, and we welcome gifts of any size. For those who may be interested in donating an in-kind gift of construction-related materials or services, please contact Jane Ricci in the parish office at 481-5115 or capitalcampaign@olaparish.net. She will forward your information to our Construction Committee.

Finally, I sincerely want to thank our Chairman, Dan Cairns, and our Advance Gifts Committee Co-Chairs, Dave Murphy and Kelly Brothers, for their hard work and tenacity in leading this important effort. They, as well as the members of our Steering Committee and Advance Gifts Committee, volunteered countless hours toward ensuring the success of our Capital Campaign. Their dedication along with your support will be a blessing on Our Lady of the Assumption for decades to come.
